TV Ads At The Gas Pump

As you wait outside your car for the gas pump to click indicating that it is done and swear under your breath about the $3 per gallon price you don’t have much else to do. Now gas stations are beginning to install television at their pumps to play ads as you wait.

This is a nice way to make a little more cash off advertisers for the gas stations. However, this may also increase their own sales of non gasoline products. With a large amount of people using credit/ debit cars at the pump they do not even have to enter the building where the temptation to purchase pop, beer, strange lighters, and fattening food is greatest. I believe the television ads will increase pull into the store.

  1. Because I recently purchased a Honda Civic Hybrid, and spend less time (and money) at the pump, I have another thing to be grateful for: fewer ads to which I’ll be subjected!
